Jump the gun, not the shark
I'm feeling charitable, so Yosemitespoof is available a day early (compare the original). Merry Christmas, or something. The automatic update notifications will go out tomorrow as usual.
I'm still using the RC version, but I assume they are the same. That said, I've made the jump completely now. My last addon, All In One Sidebar, updated on the 15th so everything is pretty much back to the way I had it in 24. Of course 31 is now much faster than 29 and the earlier two 31 betas.
Love the spoof. 31 Final is not only much faster than the 31 betas, but also feels significantly more snappy than 24 on my MDD DP 1.42 GHz running OS X 10.5.8. Thanks for all of your hard work aimed at getting us to the next ESR, Cameron.
Chris, under v31 the tabsonbottom config feature does not switch despite the ability to change true and false setting. Would be nice if this worked again - it did under 24.x
Well, tabs on bottom is gone for good in Australis. If you still see an about:config setting, it's a leftover that does nothing. You can try an add-on called "Classic Theme Restorer", but I can't really recommend it. It offers lots of configuration settings, but the results don't look convincing to me.
Chris, a big thank you for your suggestion. I tried the Classic Theme Restorer add-on and it worked for all the mods I require. BTW T4F 31 is much faster and more stable than the 24.x version I was using on my G5 DP 1.8. Thank you for all your efforts - great job!
I'm glad to see confirmation from another user regarding 31 feeling significantly faster than 24. Even a couple days in, I'm still happily surprised every time I pull up 31 to browse. Complicated pages are loading quicker and it feels a lot more responsive when switching tabs.
I'll second Classic Theme Restorer. It's allowed me to keep pretty much the same look I had in 24 and it's the only addon I found that would kill the Title Bar.

ReplyDeleteYes, there is no difference.
